We are open 7 days a week
Bring your staff for a morning or a day of fun to build team spirit, to test their abilities to work together and trust one another.
On the 1st December 2017, Paddle Power was proud to host the 2nd stage of an Amazing Race event.
3 teams roared down the driveway in their 4x4 vehicles not having a clue what they were required to do.
A quick signing of the indemnity forms and then a race down the stairs to the beach where Rowan and Bless waited for them with some of our rafts.
Their task was to paddle 2 to a raft across the river which was flowing pretty fast after some nice rain. One of the team members had to clamber out of the raft and up a rather muddy bank, grab a flag and paddle back again. Easier said than done when you have never paddled before and the current is taking you sideways downstream.
It is really hard to keep a business going in South Africa at the moment. Political tension, corruption, high fuel and food prices, retrenchments, strikes ... oh the list goes on and on. Beam me up Scotty to a happier place. If only ...
The reality for most of us is that we are here to stay and despite everything negative that is going on, South Africa is a beautiful country with wonderful people who just want to get on with life and bring up their families and enjoy time with friends.
South Africans are resilient, innovative and brave. From big business to small entrepreneurs, we also have the farmers who live by the "boer maak 'n plan" (farmers make a plan) theory, we have millions of people living in informal settlements surviving by setting up a hair salon on the pavement or selling fruit and veggies to passers by those who sell anything and everything at traffic lights.
It is when we are in the deepest hole that we fight hardest. Unless we win the Lotto we have no choice.
Recently The Extraordinary Group (TEG) arranged a week long training series for Mazda who were launching their new BT-50 vehicles. It was a great priviliege to have the 250 people from the Mazda National Sales Teams having fun at Paddle Power.
TEG had organised the event to be based on an Amazing Race theme. Paddle Power was used for 2 activities - a river game and Crossbow.
